Buy a jeweler's magnification eye glass (10X power is good), and look at the print through the glass. If you see dots, instead of brush marks, then you have a print. If the you see brush marks, then bingo it's more than likely 98 percent real. I have been fooled by good fake prints. One more thing, sometimes it is a print, but the signature can be real. Check all of the art piece.

You could look for raised brush strokes in the original as opposed to a print. Sometimes some so called oil painting painted by this way: first step ----use a kind of machine to print on the canvas , second step -----add some paint on the canvas according to the shape of print.
