The simple fact that he is married should send some red flags up. If he cheated on his wife with you I hope you don't believe that he won't do it to you (shall he ever leave his wife in the first place.) If he was really in that bad of a situation he'd leave his wife and start life anew. He may use his children as an excuse.

You are missing the point. Even if the married man genuinely cares about you why do you bother to see a man who only gives you crumbs off of the table and who stays with another woman he can leave? He might give you reasons he cannot leave, and may be they are true, so find a SINGLE man. Simple. If you do not respect yourself enough to make sure you are happy he will not do it for you.
