A print maker carves or etches a design onto a surface. Then, they fill the design with ink. After the design is filled with ink, it is imprinted onto a surface, creating a permanent design. Print makers use stencils or free-hand their designs.

Framing A Print?

Framing a PrintMake sure your finger is out of the way. Keep the print flat. The more that you have it up, and the more that you grip it, the tighter the canvas is going to become. The right angle is a good tension for the canvas. You can make it so tight that you tear the canvas, and you don't want to do that. Close the grippers. Walk around to the other side. Hold the bottom in. Hit a 2-cycle, 2-stroke lifter. Notice how it will lift it up and give it an exposed edge. You get an exposed edge to put staples in. You will get a long-nosed staple gun. Stainless steel staples will never rust, even in the most humid or warmest climates. As fast as you can, put the staples in. Walk back to the front of the machine. Release the 2-stroke. Release the grippers. There's the first stretch. The two sides put down. Do a fold. A military bed fold.To make a canvas an archival museum-quality product, do the following: eco-print shield on the surface, sealing the bars with acid in the migrate field, and a backing on the back of the print. These tips should help give you the best possible print. They should be done to ensure that your canvas turns into the best it can be. These steps should be carried out by a professional if a particularly pricey piece is at stake and you want to preserve value.
