In order to run any GBA games on a Cyclops DS Evoloution Modcard, you need a GBA expansion pack, such as EZFlash 3 in 1.
You may then run the game as normal, the mod chip will then proceed to patch the game if it is your first time running the ROM.

you have to put the .chd file in a seprate folder and name it carnevil arrange the folders like this in the roms folder c: mame/roms/carnevil.zip c: mame/roms/carnevil/carnevil.chd hopefully you get it to run
