Question: How do you say, "Password" in Klingon?

Answer: jUSmu'

- Kesuvaglar

juSmu' is pretty horrible for "Password".

juS is a verb meaning "to pass, overtake". In other words, it's what you do when you get in the fast lane on the highway. Which has absolutely nothing to do with the meaning of "password".

The key in Klingon is often to not be so literal. Think about what a word *means* rather than what it *says*. For instance, one way I might try to say "password" would be naw' mu'. This would literally mean "access word", which describes a password pretty well: it's the word that grants you access.
