Yes, it is possible. You can trade Pokémon using a visual boy emulator. When you connect it, you should have the wireless connection enabled, and you should have a computer with wireless support. Then, you can connect the first computer to the other computer via a wired or wireless network.

go to the global trading station or gts for short...

and either search for the Pokemon you want or offer one of your Pokemon and wait...

this may takes minutes or even days so be patient...

PS: you can only search for Pokemon that are already in your pokedex

First and most important you need to know what games you have, Second you need at least 2 Gameboys, Gameboy Colors, Gameboy Advances or Gameboy Advance SP's, Third you need to have the Gameboy link cable or Gameboy advance link cable or Gameboy Advance wireless adapters (you need at least 2), Fourth you need to make sure you have beaten each Pokemon game you have because depending on which ones you have they may not connect with the others until you finish the game and or quests in the game that let you trade those games are: Firered, Leafgreen, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. For those games mentioned you need to beat the game and obtain the upgrade for the pokedex called the national mode which lets you obtain Pokemon from other games and for Firered and Leafgreen specifically you need to beat the game, get the national mode upgrade and deliver two items to a guy in the one island Pokemon center a ruby and sapphire. Fifth (this part is the last option you have to trade don't use it unless you don't have step 2's accessories and or game systems) Having the games Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD gale of darkness allow the last trading method and here's how it works: Beat both games first of all and then you must go to a city called Phenac City enter the Pokemon center then go downstairs talk to the lady and save your game a screen will appear now you need to insert a Gameboy Advance to Gamecube link cable to both the gamecube and gameboy advance making sure your Pokemon game is one of the following:Firered, Leafgreen, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. Then make sure each is saved in a Pokemon center with the Pokemon you want to trade with then once your connected use the gamecube controller to trade the colosseum/xd gale of darkness Pokemon then use the gameboy advance to select the Pokemon you want to trade from the gameboy advance Pokemon game which are mentioned above. Allow the games to save and your done. Sixth (this part is for the other games there all relatively the same so don't panic) simply go upstairs in any Pokemon center and talk to the lady that is running the trade center she will either be in the middle or the right depending on the game only red, blue and yellow need to talk to a lady that is near the personal computer that's the only difference except there is no upstairs in the Pokemon center, pick trade center for each game and then sit in the seats use the A button to select the Pokemon and trade them. Seven (this part is purely for the use of wireless adapters) Exclusive for Firered, Leafgreen and Emerald you can also use the Union room to trade Pokemon which is also upstairs in every Pokemon center talk to the lady behind the middle counter then when in the union room find a lady near a board talk to her and register your Pokemon also you need to ask for a certain type of Pokemon for example water hopefully your friend has a water type then they can check your trade on the board and ask you to trade using the board the host of the trade must confirm the trade. Eight (this is for diamond, pearl, platinum and every other game after it) You can use friend codes in the basement of the Pokemon center to trade you can also use wireless connection upstairs and lastly you can go into the global trade station which is in jubilife town and use Nintendo wifi connection to trade. That's all folks!:)

You need a cord to hook the same game systems together. Then you go to the poke'mon center. Up stairs you talk to the girls at the same time and they let you in.
