If you mean prevent using Rare Candy, I recommend using stat boosting vitamins like Zinc, Calcium, Iron, etc. to raise a Pokemon's stat or defeating a specific species of Pokemon. The stat is raised by what is known as EVs (Or Effort Values) which are the points for increasing the a permanent stat. 4 EVs are needed for 1 permanent stat and a vitamin offers 10 EVs, or 2 permanent stat points. (Iron raises your Pokemon's Defense by 2 and a half) In this case, Rare Candy wasn't even boosting your Pokemon's stats by EVs, just the level and the normal stats. Here's an example to help you remember:
There is a Charizard on both sides; both players have Charizard to face each other. (Let's pretend they have perfect IVs (Individual Values) as well.) The Charizard on player one's side haven't EV trained and mostly used Rare Candies and battled random Pokemon, but player two's Charizard has been properly EV trained with a reduced amount of Rare Candies. He trained his Charizard in the Special Attack stat and the Speed stat to the max possible and 4 EVs in Attack. Because of this, player one's Charizard has a disadvantage and end up being slower than the other Charizard. With just a Dragon Pulse, it can seriously hurt the first Charizard when normally it wouldn't.
Most People Dislike It, But In Driftveil City, (The One With The Ground Gym) Wild Vanillites' Can Be Caught. When They Become Vanilluxes They Are Really Strong! Zebstrika's Are Strong Too. Darmanitan Is The Strongest Non-Legendary Fire Pokemon Available Before Trading Your Previous Pokemon From Other Games.
The Pokemon Seel, which can be captured in Phenac Town from Cipher Peon Egrog, after being purified leans surf. Although I wouldn't suggest trying to train one as they don't become very strong. Try something else like a Camerupt as it can learn Eruption or another Pokemon that can learn Water Spout as this are the strongest attacks that hit two Pokemon while not hitting you other Pokemon in the battle
strong Pokemon
Grass type Pokemon are strong against Water, Ground and Rock.

The enemy team in this game is Team Plasma! Unlake others, Team Plasma doesn't want to steal Pokemon and become strong, they want to steal and free the Pokemon of others!
