How does Count Olaf die?

Ishmel (the island leader) shot a harpoon at him where he was holding the divers helmet with the deadly fungus that killed in the hour. I think the harpoon went through the divers helmet and through to his chest as later on the baudelaire orphans see him with blood all over his chest and say "You're hurt" and he says "I get hurt a lot" Then he kisses kit snicket and seys "i told you i would do that one last time" hinting that he and kit were once together when he was a member of VFD before the schism. Anyway he then helps her to the shore to deliver the baby (one good deed count olaf did) then lay down, opened his mouth as to say something to the baudalaires then he shut his mouth and breathed his last breath and died. Basically the harpoon went through the divers helmet made him bleed to death. Sad really, I was hoping that he would go good and help the Baudelaires find the quagmires to see if they were really alive (I think we should have found out if they survived or not) and then he would die afterwards helping bauldilaires and quagmires. But also I think he should of explained more about the poison darts really, sorry for rambling butt :L So that how he died (and other stuff)

Count Olaf angers Ishmael the leader of the islanders with his tricks and gets shot by him with a harpoon gun spilling the poisonous mushrooms out of the helmet; poisoning everyone on the island.

In the end, Count Olaf died. He got shipwrecked on an island, but he still managed to threaten people with a harpoon gun. The villagers on the island banashed him and took his harpoon gun. The chief of the island eventually shot Count Olaf with the harpoon gun, but it was deflected by Olaf's fake stomach. It still wounded him, but he died slowly. Before he died, he kissed Kit Snicket and helped her have her baby because he always loved her, and then he died.

Well he actually fell off the house of Aunt Josephine in the movie but in the book, he died for a reason which is too sad to tell. But I am not even sure if he died after falling off the last piece of Aunt Josephine's house. I am sure that you WANT to know how he died in the book .... but Mr. Snicket would probably be ashamed of some one letting out the secret of the death of that... terrible man. So I can not tell...

Olaf died by breathing in a spore of a dangerous fungus called the Medusoid Mycelium (if it's a real fungus that I don't know), in the fourteenth chapter, The End, the last book. If breathed in you will die in an hour if you do not take either horseradish or wasabi which are the cures. Hope this helps :)

Count Olaf was pretending to be Kit Snicket on the Island, and was hiding the diving helmet filled with the Medusoid Mycelium under his shirt. Ishmael shot him with a harpoon gun, breaking the helmet and releasing the very deadly fungus into the air. All the island folk hopped on a boat to try to find an Antidote across the sea, and the Bauldelaires went to tend to kit, who was about to deliver her baby. Kit was very sick. and the children found Count Olaf. Count Olaf loved Kit very much, and even though he had been impaled with a harpoon, he still made his last act to save Kit from dying a horrible death. It says in the book "and he died right there, beside his true love, a smile on his face. he looked as if he couldn't be happier to forget his troubles at last."
