How does Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets end?

Harry Potter and Ron Weasley enter the Chamber of Secrets to rescue Ginny Weasley.

Harry enters the Chamber of Secrets and encounters Ginny's still body and Tom Riddle. Tom turns out to be a younger version of Voldemort, who has been enchanting Ginny through his journal.

Harry calls for help from Dumbledore. A phoenix and a magic hat arrive. Tom summons a basilisk, but the phoenix punctures its eyes. The hat produces a sword, which Harry uses to kill the giant snake. Harry sticks a basilisk fang through the diary, destroying Tom. Ginny wakes up. Harry explains his adventure to Dumbledore. Lucius Malfoy storms into the office with his house-elf, Dobby, and Harry frees Dobby from by tricking Lucius into giving Dobby a sock. All is well in the castle as the students leave for their summer vacations.

Harry finds the Chamber of Secrets in the girls bathroom and speaks to it in parceltounge to open it. Him, Ron and Gilderoy Lockhart enter it. Before they reach the chamber Lockhart tries to escape by taking Ron's wand and tries to wipe Harry's and Ron's memories. As Ron's wand had been broken by the Womping Willow the spell backfired and hit Lockhart who loses his memory.

Harry then goes further into the Chamber leaving Ron and Lockhart behind. When Harry reaches it he finds Ginny Weasly's body slowly dying on the floor and meets Tom Riddle(Voldermort) Harry did not know that Tom was Voldermort and trusted him, Tom then reveals himself as Voldermort and plans to suck the life out of Ginny to regain his own.

Tom then sets a giant snake know as a Basilisk to attack Harry. Harry is defended by the Phoenix named Fawkes who blinds the Basilisk taking away it's power to kill with a single look. Harry gets chased around the chamber as the Basilisk attempts to find him using it's hearing. The sword of Godric Gryffindor appears for Harry and he uses it to slay the Basilisk.

Harry manages to defeat the Basilisk but gets pierced by the Basilisk's fang which is deadly poisonous, Harry recovers when Fawkes uses his Pheonix's healing power by crying on Harry's wound. Harry then confronts Tom Riddle who is still gaining power from Ginny. Harry pulls the Basilisk fang out of his wound and stabs Tom Riddle's diary that he has with him. (Spoiler Alert) If you have read through the rest of the books or watched the films you will know that the Diary was a Horcrux. This kills Tom, Harry saves Ginny and exits the Chamber with Ron and the memory-less Gilderoy Lockhart. After all this Harry returns to Privet drive to live with his Aunt and Uncle for the Summer.

Also, to the last person who answered; It is Philosopher's Stone in the UK and Sourcer's Stone in the US. So, he was not wrong.
