It's revealed that Makoto Kino/Lita/Sailor Jupiter's parents died in a plane crash at some point during her youth in the manga, but Makoto never goes into detail about what happened to her parents or why she lives alone in the anime.
It is assumed that her parents had either life insurance or left Makoto with some sort of inheritance, or both, which allows Makoto to live on her own. Typically, Japanese junior high students aren't permitted to have a job while they're in school, but exceptions can be made, and it is possible that Makoto has or does support herself with some sort of part-time job. However, because of her school and duties as a Sailor Senshi [Scout], this seems unlikely.
It is also frequently assumed by fans that this is because Makoto's parents had no living or able relatives that could take Makoto in.
Her apartment is rarely shown, but when it is (toward the end of the fourth arc, during the "Exam Battle" Specials), it is frequently depicted as a small, one-bedroom apartment filled with lots of plants and ample space in the kitchen for cooking.
It was a "flat", a British apartment.
There are only 5 seasons of Sailor Moon (anime) and 1 season of Sailor Moon Live Action. So technically 6 seasons: 1. Sailor Moon 2. Sailor Moon R 3. Sailor Moon S 4. Sailor Moon SuperS 5. Sailor Moon Stars 6. Sailor Moon Live Action Only the first 4 seasons are dubbed into English so far.

Sailor Venus' first anime appearance is as Minako Aino, in a non-speaking role, in Japanese episode 33/or episode 29 in the English dub. She later appears as Sailor Venus speaking, at the end of that same episode. Her first appearance in the manga as Sailor Venus, and not as her previous "Sailor V" code-named identity is the final act of the Codename: Sailor V manga; her first appearance in the Sailor Moon manga is Act 8: Mamoru Chiba - Tuxedo Mask. Her first appearance in the live-action series Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon is Act 12.
Sailor Moon S refers to the third season of the Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon anime. The "S" is said to stand for "Super," because it is the first season in which we see Sailor Moon gain an upgraded transformation, when she is called Super Sailor Moon. This season is equivalent to the "Infinity" arc of the manga, though it did not have an equivalent in the live action television series (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon). It was, however, utilized in many of the Sailor Moon musicals.
