Usually, a mirage occurs when the human brain is deprived from a source.
Say if you were stranded in a desert. You would have no water and be very parched. The brain is also going to be starved from the water, then conjures up an image of some water source (e.x. An oasis). This would lead you to believe that the thing the brain has just showed is real, therefore creating a mirage.

∙ 13y agoWhen you talk about mirage, Do you mean a Dimensional Scream in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time? Well a Dimensional Scream is an ability which you possess that allows you to see the past or the future!(Great isn't it?) Well, a mirage occurs when your Starter Pokemon touches something related to Time Gears and when this happens he is able to prevent something bad to happen. Actually the game relates that He (Your starter Pokemon) can only see the future of something related to Time Gears, but, I don't think that's the Point as in the beginning of the game......... when you chase your first criminal, that is, Drowzee, you actually see the future when you touch Little Azurill's fallen Apple on the floor in front of the Kecleon Brothers shop. I don't think that mirage was related to any Time Gear in the area!
