How does clannad end?

Basically the lights in the other world saved them. Tomoya collected a bunch of them throughout his life from helping a bunch of people (such as Miyazawa and his own father). When Ushio died, he lost all hope in life but he wished that Nagisa hadn't died while giving birth to Ushio and that Ushio was still alive. When he died (yes, he died in the last scene while clutching Ushio), he made that wish and was whisked back in time to when he first met Nagisa and was given a choice to whether or not meet her and have all those things happen. He decided to meet Nagisa and he fast forwarded to when Nagisa had given birth to Ushio and she had survived.

Also, just to clear things up about the robot and the girl in the other world (they played a big part in Nagisa's revival), the girl is Ushio and the robot was Tomoya. Both sides of Tomoya (the robot and the one in the real world) were collecting a bunch of those lights and together, they combined all their lights and made one wish each. Tomoya made the revival wish while the robot wished that he and the girl (ushio) could go to the other world. Since they collected so many lights, their wishes came true. The girl was born into the other world as Ushio while the robot was reborn as Tomoya.

nagisa and tomoya have a child in the middle of the second season(after story) and of course nagisa dies while giving birth and in the very end all of their friends get the jobs they want, tomoya's dad goes to live with his mother, everythings going great until ushio(the daughter of tomoya and nagisa)gets sick for a long period of time and she wants to go on a trip with her dad and while walking to the train station with her dad she collapses and dies and it starts to snow outside just like it did when nagisa gave birth.

The last episode of Clannad was very relieving.

If you have watched almost every episode, you would notice that Tomoya went through a lot of hardship. Nagisa's death, the baby Ushio, Ushio's death 5 years later...

At the end of the last episode, Tomoya finds out that Nagisa/Ushio's death were both part of his dream.

I forgot her name (I never remembered it x_x), but there was a girl who had told Nagisa and Tomoya that when you see a light in the air, an orb-like light, you may make a wish, and it will come true! Tomoya saw the light after Ushio's death, he had wished he went back in time to when Nagisa was delivering Ushio.

It turned out, Nagisa survived, Ushio survived, and they all lived happily for the rest of their life.
