How does friendship play a role in the movie Harry Potter?

Friendship is a main theme in the Harry Potter films. There is a lot of self sacrificing by the friends for each other, and a lot of times they put themselves in harms way for friendship. Friendship and love are shown to be two of the most important things in life, and worth fighting for. The films also show some of the difficulties with friendship, as when Ron and Harry aren't on good terms, and when Hermione feels like an outcast in the first film.
