For Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal, you will only be given 1 chance to catch Suicune. Once it faints in battle, it's gone for good unless you have a previous save that isn't too far back from running into Suicune in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver or interacting with it in Pokémon Crystal. With Pokémon HeartGold and Pokémon SoulSilver, you will be given unlimited chances in order to catch it but once you catch it, you will not be able to catch it again. In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, after finding and scaring Suicune off from its various locations in the Johto and Kanto regions, it will be on Route 25 which is where Bill's House in the Kanto region is at. You can catch it there but on the off chance you defeat it and then save after you defeat it, you will need to make your way to the Indigo Plateau in order to challenge the Elite 4 and Lance once again. Once you defeat Lance, that will activate the system that will regenerate any of the one-off Pokémon such as Legendary Pokémon like Suicune, Raikou, Entei, Lugia and Ho-Oh as well as regular one-off Pokémon such as Sudowoodo. Most of the one-off Pokémon will be regenerated in the same places with the exception of Suicune, its regeneration place will be found in the Burned Tower in Ecrutreak City.

∙ 13y agoYou get only one chance so i would save it right in front of it so that if you accidentally defeat it or run out of poke balls you can turn off you system and try again. Hope this helped!
