How many children did Robert Gould Shaw have?

I didn't think Robert Shaw was married. I thought he was still a young man. All the surviving letters were written home to his parents.

He was married on May 2, 1863. If you would like to read his letters, including those to his wife Annie, his parents, and his friends, I recommend "Blue Eyed Child of Fortune" edited by Russell Duncan.

Actually, Robert Shaw married Annie Haggerty on May 2, 1863, just 11 weeks before he was killed at Fort Wagner. They did not have any children, and Annie never remarried.

He didn't have kids because he died @ the age of 27 in fort Wagner :P

He was 25. He was born in 1837 and died in July 1863, but his birthday was not until October--so 25.
