So the alarm has to be wired in on the negative side of the dome light as well. When they do this, only one wire running from the neg side is needed. It is possible that the installer cut the wire and wired the alarm in series and not parallel. What this means is that the alarm has been included in the electrical path for the dome light instead of just using the current.

Check in the under-hood fuse box. I think you'll find a 7.5 amp fuse labeled for the dome and trunk lights along with the alarm. If that isn't it, just scan the labeling inside the fuse box lids (under hood and under the dash) for the alarm. While you're at it, check all of your lighting. If there's something wrong with any of the lights connected to the alarm (inside and outside) it might (and 'might' is definitely the operative word here) affect alarm performance. Cheers

I would suggest checking all of the switches on your doors, or the alignment of your doors. Also, make sure your trunk is closing properly. Check that switch too. Your dome light is staying on probably because one of the doors isn't closing properly, or the switch is bad in one of the doors/trunk lid. Good luck!
