AnswerSure it could be, but not necessarily. Maybe the bulb burned out. Maybe the fuse blew? If your incapable of checking these out, take it back to the alarm installer and nicely explain what happened and they will probably take care of it even if they didn't cause it. Certainly don't accuse them since it may not be related.AnswerWHENEVER INSTALLING ALARM SYSTEMS ONE OF THE FIRST STEPS THAT THE INSTALLER SHOULD TAKE IS TO DISABLE THE DOME LIGHT DURING THE INSTALLATION. IT CAN TAKE SEVERAL HOURS TO COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION AND YOU HAVE THE CAR DOOR OPENED TRIGGERING THE DOME LIGHT TO TURN ON. THE LIGHT CAN DRAIN YOUR BATTERY. THIS CAN EITHER BE DONE BY REMOVING THE FUSE FROM THE FUSE PANEL OR BY REMOVING THE BULB FROM THE DOME LIGHT SOCKET. THE ALARM IS USUALLY SPLICED INTO THE DOME LIGHT SINCE ANYTIME A DOOR IS OPENED THE DOME LIGHT IS TRIGGERED TO COME ON. THIS MAKES IT EASY TO ALERT THE SYSTEM THAT THE VEHICLE DOOR IS OPENED. DANOWhen the alarm is installed, they splice into the dome light wiring as the last person said. This way when the door is opened and the dome light comes on the electric current acts as a trigger to set off the alarm. However when the doors are opened, they close a circuit on the negative side of the dome light. There is 12 volt power running to the light at all times. So the alarm has to be wired in on the negative side of the dome light as well. When they do this, only one wire running from the neg side is needed. It is possible that the installer cut the wire and wired the alarm in series and not parallel. What this means is that the alarm has been included in the electrical path for the dome light instead of just using the current.
The fuse for the alarm system on a Toyota Corolla is located in the driver kick panel. The fuse will be labelled D/L or DOME.

You always do when you take the key. You need the mallet from Sully's to crack the roof dome and escape -- with the alarm sounding, you cannot bo back down the way you came. If you don't have the mallet, return the key and the alarm stops. Go back to Sully's, get the mallet, and come back again to get the key.
You have to leave through the roof dome, so you need the mallet from Sully's to break the glass where it is cracked (upper left).
Refine question Is there aftermarket alarm, remote strat, etc.?

Check in the under-hood fuse box. I think you'll find a 7.5 amp fuse labeled for the dome and trunk lights along with the alarm. If that isn't it, just scan the labeling inside the fuse box lids (under hood and under the dash) for the alarm. While you're at it, check all of your lighting. If there's something wrong with any of the lights connected to the alarm (inside and outside) it might (and 'might' is definitely the operative word here) affect alarm performance. Cheers
This is just a guess, but: probably because something is wrong with the wiring of your car. You should have a mechanic look at it.

I would suggest checking all of the switches on your doors, or the alignment of your doors. Also, make sure your trunk is closing properly. Check that switch too. Your dome light is staying on probably because one of the doors isn't closing properly, or the switch is bad in one of the doors/trunk lid. Good luck!
