None. You may have a natural talent and all you have to do is develop it. It may help if you took art classes and art history, but you don't have to. Many great artists have just done what they did. Some became famous in their lifetime, but many did not. Yet, their art is still great.

He also went through 10 years of college at Stanford, Harvard and Columbia, including graduate school.. and in the end, he painted and did all things around being an artist, including teaching art classes, quite happily. There are not many that have earned the title through an established organization. I've been practicing over 25 years and have had the honor of meeting two with the title, both were also tenth dan and over 70 years old.
It is not necessary to go to college to become an artist, though attending a 4-year college (maybe an art/business double major) is advised. College is a must, however, if you are considering work as a museum/gallery director or educator or the like.
