Mary Mcleod Bethune contributed alot to the African American society... she helped the young African American people learn how to be able to read and write so that they may have a chance of suceeding in life... Some that African Americans don't contribute andything to society but if you look back at the worlds history without the African Maericans help we would not be in as goos of a place as we are now!
The Elizabeth Seeger School that opened in 1971 no longer exists. Its first site was in a brownstone building on West 12th Street between 7th Avenue and 6th Avenue in a building owned by City and Country School. It later moved to two other sites, but closed in the 1980s.
Disneyland opened its gates on July 17, 1955.
The Chamber of Secrets was first opened in the 1942-1943 school year by Tom Marvolo Riddle, a 16 year old who would later become Lord Voldemort and the last living descendant of Salazar Slytherin. After the Basilisk within the chamber killed Moaning Myrtle, Armando Dippet, the then headmaster of Hogwarts, was considering closing the school. When Tom Riddle discovered this, he feared he would have to return to the Muggle orphanage he had grown up in and decided to frame Rubeus Hagrid for opening the Chamber. Voldemort then created a Horcrux out of a diary in order to preserve his 16 year old self, so that one day, the fragment of soul sealed within the Horcrux could open the chamber again and finish what Tom had started. The Chamber could only be opened by someone who spoke Parseltongue and the Basilisk could only be controlled by the heir of Salazar Slytherin. The Chamber was opened again in Harry's second year at Hogwarts in the 1992-1993 school year.

Trinity Mission School, in South Carolina, is the first school she herself attended, as a child; she first taught at this same school after attending a training school for Christian women, the Scotia Seminary, in North Carolina. She later taught at Haines Normal and Industrial in Georgia, and several other schools, before going to Palatka, Florida, to start a missionary school called Literary and Industrial Training School for Girls there. She then founded her own Daytona Normal and Industrial School in Daytona, Florida, which much later became known as Bethune-Cookman College.
Mary McLeod Bethune was an African American educator and leader in civil rights. She established a private school for African Americans that would go on to become Bethune-Cookman University. Under her advisory role to President Franklin D. Roosevelt she became known as The First Lady of the Struggle.
She was a teacher. First, her school consisted of only 22 students, but within a year, it was up to 250. Eventually, she was the Secretary of Education under Theodore Roosevelt.
