One way I know for sure will work is to get one of the starting Pokemon from Professor Oak, then use the link to trade and get the other two. Example: Get Bulbasaur, catch Weedle and Caterpie, link trade Weedle for Charmander and Caterpie for Squirtle. I don't know if there is any other way.
