There are some like myself who ride whenever weather and time allow. There are hardcore riders who ride rain or shine, everywhere they go, and on the other end of the scale there are those who buy a Harley just so they can say they have one.
Many of the choppers and show bikes are uncomfortable to ride long distances, so they are often trailered to events and then maybe ridden a little.
I have not seen any statistics on how much people actually ride, but I would guess that the average in states where you can ride all year the average might be 5000 miles a year or less, and in areas where the riding season is short due to snow, etc, the average might be much lower.
I live in California and average 10-15 thousand a year, but I inow others that do 40,000 a year.
