That did not work out, and Leno returned as Tonight Show host on March 1, 2010. Despite having top ratings amongst all other late-night talk shows, NBC has announced that Jay Leno will be replaced by jimmy fallon in 2014. Leno's final show as host will be on February 6, 2014. Thus in total, Leno has been the host for about 21 years.
