Born August 17 1978,Vibeke Stene is the former singer for the gothic metal band Tristania. Stene grew up Sokndal with her parents and sisters. When she was just sixteen she started studying officaly study music after she moved to Stavanger. It was in Stavanger where she attended a Tristania concert where the band had a female singer already but after her band performance was kicked out. Stene had a friend of hers contact the band and it was than that she was asked to do guest vocals. She joined the band shortly before the started the redcording for their self-titled demo. Stene was suppose to only be a short-term member but would later become a full-term member for the band. Before leaving the band she recorded 5 albumns with the band. Stene would become well known through out the gothic metal genre for her distinctive operatic vocals. Even after joining the band Stene kept studying music and teaching in it in Stavanger,Kristiansand,and Olso. In 2007 a month after the realease of the bands CD decieded to finally leave and fullfill her left long dream of teaching singing and rising her child she had in the summer of 2007.
