No; he plots to, but Violet signs the binding document with her left hand (instead of her right), which apparently voids it.

Violet is probably still 14. She is 16 when the series of books end, and this one was at the very beginning, so I am guessing she's still 14.

What is the theme of sue bad beginning?

The Bad Beginning is a dull theme, black and white if you prefer. It consists of three young children; Violet Baudelaire, Klaus Baudelaire and Sunny Baudelaire. Their treachery begins at Briny Beach when they receive the terrible news that their parents have perished in a fire. They are then put into Count Olaf's care by the Baudelaire parents' friend Mr. Poe. With the best of his intentions he still persists that the children should be left in the horrendous mans care. Count Olaf forces the youngsters to do chores and is terribly rude to them. Later in the story Count Olaf attempts to marry Violet. He is then caught by the audience and runs away. This is where their cycle of unfortunate events begins. So, the The Bad Beginnings theme is sad because of the, nervousness and the feeling of being trapped to the children.

What is a summary of the theme of 'A Series of Unfortunate Events the Bad Beginning'?

In The Bad Beginning, 3 children named Violet (14 years old), Klaus (12 years old), and Sunny (infant) Baudelaire, are notified that their parents have been killed in a fire that destroyed their entire home. When they get sent to live with an old man named Count Olaf, he makes them do terrible chores. He later makes Violet and Klaus be in a play so that Count Olaf can marry Violet to get their enormous fortune. If they don't, Sunny will be dropped of of a tower. When they both say I do (to get married), Violet signs with her left hand, instead of her right hand ( she writes with her right hand). That makes the marriage invalid, and Count Olaf can't get their money. Count Olaf shuts off all the lights in the theater and escapes in his black car. The movie is a little different, because Count Olaf gets captured in that, and it has the 2nd and 3rd book in it (a.k.a. The Reptile Room and The Wide Window).

How do the kids in The Bad Beginning escape from Count Olaf?

Count Olaf cast Violet in a play in which he would marry her, but because he also cast a real judge it made the marriage legal. Violet had to go through with this because Olaf had locked Sunny in a cage and was ready to drop her to her death if Violet did not marry her. However, the children found out that if the bride did not sign the marriage deed with her usual hand (Violet is left-handed) then it would be invalid. So Violet signed the deed with her right hand, Sunn was released and after ensuring that Sunny was okay she proved that Olaf was not her husband. Olaf and his troupe then disappeared.
