Zuko spoke out of turn in his father's war room he spoke against them sacrificing people so they can sneak up on a particular place( cant remember certain place) and he was supposed to fight the general but his father showed up and Zuko refused to fight his father and Ozai showed no mercy and burned his left eye

What happened to zuko's mother?
The most we know about Zuko's mother is that she was banished. The back story is that Azulon, Fire Lord before Ozai, commanded Ozai to do the unthinkable to Zuko, most likely kill him, and Ozai was going to do it. When Ursa found this out she committed high treason. It was not clarified what she did but you are led to believe she killed Azulon in order to save Zuko. For her actions Ozai banished her. She was never seen or heard from again. She may be alive and she may not. The very last episode implies that Ozai knows where Ursa is when Zuko asks him where his mother is. It is never confirmed wether she was alive or dead or wether Ozai really did know where she was. There was on episode that had a vision of zoku's mother. I believe she was banished to the spirit world. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes it is true she is banished...also she is alive. In the comic strip the promise, it is said Zuko sent Jun and her freaky mole thing to search for her, but she was nowhere to be found. Now in Avatar aang when they searched for Aang he was also nowhere to be found but he was just like in another world. So it may be possible Ursa is in the spirit world or she might be in the place Aang was in. I mean she's kind to animals so there is possibility she's on a giant lion turtle.

Firelord Ozai wanted to be next Firelord instead of Uncle Iroh so he talked to his dad and he hated the idea because Iroh was already depressed that he lost his son in a war so the dad punished Ozai by telling him to kill his own son ,but Zuko's mom came up with an idea to spare his life. When Fire lord Ozai describes this event he says that she came up with a plan to allow Ozai to take the thrown through Azulons downfall. He also states that she "commited vicious, treasonous acts". It is heavily implied that she killed Azulon, and then was banished. The above answer is correct information about Ursa being banished and all. But the real question is after the war, does Zuko find his mother? It is a question that is constantly still being asked after 4 years since the show ended by fans of the show including me. Well your answer is about to be answered in the avatar comic book, "the search" series. If you did not know, Dark Horse [Comic book publisher] has been working on a comic book series about the avatar tv show. One of them being the promise, a three part comic series, only part 1 [Jan 2012] and 2 [May 2012] came out recently. But part 3 is coming out in either September or October 2012. As for avatar "the search" comic book, that is coming out next year 2013 [possibly the first month of the new year].
