A species is often defined as a set of organisms that reproduce in nature. If members of the species change so much that they can no longer reproduce with the other members of the species, those members are considered to be a new species. As an example: If a species of birds becomes separated and over time one group's mating dance is two hops to the right and one to the left while the other group's dance is two hops to the left and one to the right. Those two groups will no longer be able to interbreed because the females won't be properly impressed if the dance is performed "wrong".

Those which compete more successfully will have more children who survive and eventually have children of their own. To some degree, the success of a given animal can be accidental, but when we look at all the members of a given species, there is a role played by heredity. Some animals have better genes than others, which gives them a competitive advantage. Hence, those genes will be more likely to be perpetuated in the next generation. Worse genes are more likely to disappear from the species in question. This is a process which Charles Darwin described as "survival of the fittest". Evolution can be a very slow process, but life has existed on the planet Earth for more than a billion years, so there has been a lot of time for evolution to happen.

Their bodies adapt automatically to the weather and climate. But to find food and water they have to explore the area to find the best hunting ground. If the animal survives on plants then they have to find a large food source for that certain green veggie. The water can come from the plants or if there is a spring source (river/lake/ cave that has a waterfall/etc.)there are many ways that the animals can adapt to there surroundings by camouflage and if they could have sharp, jagged teeth that can eat flesh or protect themselves than they could adapt and "become" one of the Kings or Queens of their hometown.
