He sometimes appears an inch or two taller. She would not be wearing heels because of the terrain they film in. Therefore, I would say he stands between 5'9 and a MAX of 5'11".
Television uses a number of tricks to make Richard appear taller when standing next to Kahlan, when he is only an inch or two taller. FACT Darken Rahl is 5"9/10 and he does not appear shorter than richard.
