By lust for knowledge. He wanted to know how the rings worked and how to make his own. He wanted to know secrets and used the Palantir to find them out, even though it was known Sauron had captured a Palantir. His thoughts and knowledge were thus corrupted and controlled by Sauron. etc.
That would be Saruman the White, who in the books becomes Saruman the Many Colored before having his staff shattered by Gandalf the White. A Maiar (demigod) and Istari (wizard), he was corrupted by the lure of power, and eventually died at the hands of Grima Wormtongue. Saruman was given the tower by the Steward of Gondor, Beren, in the year 2759 of the Third Age.
The Dark Lord in The Lord of the Rings is Sauron, a fallen Maia (demigod). There is also Saruman, an Istari/wizard corrupted by the lure of power offered by Sauron.
Grima Wormtongue, King Theoden's adviser, was Saruman's informer at Edoras, the court of Rohan. In the Shire and surrounding lands, Saruman had other informers, such as the Southerner the hobbits saw at Bree, something of a half-orc breed. Also Bill Ferny was in league with Saruman. These ruffians are how Saruman was able to obtain his pipe-weed.
Saruman the White
I assume you are meaning Saruman, who was played by Christopher Lee. Otherwise it's the Dark Lord himself, Sauron.

Saruman was created in 1940-08.
Christopher Lee played Saruman.

In the movie, Gandalf and Saruman engaged in a battle of will and magic, in which Saruman cast down Gandalf and sent him hurtling to the roof of Orthanc. In the book, no such conflict occured. Saruman's guards merely placed Gandalf on the tower.
I believe it's Saruman the White (later Saruman of Many Colours).
Christopher Lee played Saruman in the film trilogy The Lord of the Rings.
Saruman The White was the Chief of the Order of Wizards, which was comprised of himself, Gandalf the Grey, Radagast the Brown, and the Blue Wizards Alatar and Pallendo. He was powerful and smart, but he was also overly proud and became corrupted by the Ring of Power created by Sauron. He devised machinery and massed armies, but he was defeated shortly after Sauron fell. He was eventually slain by one of his own servants, Grima Wormtoungue.
Yes. Although I'm not sure on the literature part, but in the movies (extended edition) he meets his end. How? When the fellowship meet up at thrashed and flooded region of Isengard and it's tower, Orthanc, Gandalf and the others ask Saruman for Sauron's next move. After Gandalf breaks Saruman's staff, Theoden notices Grima Wormtongue when he comes up from behind Saruman atop the tower and reminds him that he was a man of Rohan, pleading him to come down and be free of Saruman's control. Saruman strikes at Grima, angering him. Just as Saruman agrees to provide the information, Grima takes out his knife and plunges it into Saruman's back. Legolas immediately pulls an arrow and pierces Grima's heart as Saruman plummets to the ground and gets impaled by a spike on a wheel. Hope I helped.
Saruman would capture him..torturer him til he gets what he wants to hear then kill him or keep him prisoner.
Sauron was the first to create orcs then the orcs created by Saruman were called the Uruk-hai.
