Why do only 12 districts participate in the hunger games?

Because there were 13 districts but then District 13 was 'destroyed' so only 12 are left.

Why did the capitol destroyed district 12 Since there was no uprising in this district why did they destroy it?

District 12 was Katniss and Peeta's home District and Katniss was the main reason for causing the rebellion. The Capitol destroyed the District, in turn destroying many people that Katniss knew and loved, in hopes to try and break her and prevent the rebellion from becoming too large. It was also a way of the Capitol showing their power. In the Dark Days Rebellion before the Games started, they managed to win the war by bombing District 13, which scared the other Districts into surrender. I assume they thought that blowing up District 12 would have the same effect, but Katniss isn't a push over!

What are the districts from the Hunger Games?

Originally, there were 13 Districts, but the Capitol destroyed District 13 before the 1st Annual Hunger Games. This also means that The Hunger Games are also a reminder of what happened to District 13. The first 12 Districts, however, each have different resources, and still exist. District 1: Luxury Goods for the Capitol District 2: Masonry District 3: Technology District 4: Fishing District 5: Power District 6: Transportation District 7: Lumber District 8: Textiles District 9: Grain District 10: Livestock District 11: Agriculture District 12: Coal mining District 13: (now terminated) Graphite Mining. Secretly working on nuclear power. Districts 1-3 usually were where the Careers were from in the actual Games because their Districts are richer and have more food. These well-fed Tributes also were especially allowed to train for the Games (while people in other Districts risked arrest), in case they were picked; despite the fact it was illegal.

Where is katniss new home located in Catching Fire?

Well, in Catching Fire, she lives in the Victor's Village neighboring Peeta and Haymitch(in District 12). That house is fairly large, including some things that her old house didn't have, like hot water. In Mockingjay, she goes to District 13, because Katniss's district got destroyed by the Capitol. All of District 12 and 13 live in an underground building. Katniss and her family lives in 3 small "compartments", and one compartment in a bunker. Katniss didn't describe much about these homes in the book. I hoped it helped! Sorry if it was a little too descriptive.

Very hard. Her home, District 12, has been totally destroyed and she and her family has to live in District 13, which was thought to be uninhabitable. She as well as her allies who detest the Capital along with the people of District 13 live in what you would call an underground home
