How was the conflict resolved in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets?

The problem is solved when Harry and Ron Weasley discover a note on Hermione Granger telling them what lies inside the Chamber and that the Basilisk was travelling around the school using pipes. Harry then figures out where the entrance to the Chamber is and, along with Ron and Gilderoy Lockhart, go down to save her. Harry, using parseltounge, goes on to find Tom, who sets the Basilisk upon him. Fawkes blinds the Basilisk and Harry stabs it with Godric Gryffindor's sword. Harry then uses a Basilisk fang to stab the diary, destroying the Horcurx and saving Ginny.

The first problem is that somebody has opened the Chamber of Secrets and is setting the Basilisk on muggle-born students. This is resolved when Harry Potter kills the Basilisk.

The second problem, is that the person opening the Chamber is a preserved memory of young Tom Riddle aka Lord Voldemort. Tom Riddle is using a Horcrux that will allow him to return to power (and in doing so will kill Ginny Weasley). This is resolved when Harry stabs the Horcrux, destroying it and taking Riddle with it.

Harry, along with Ron Weasley and Gilderoy Lockhart, enters the Chamber of Secrets to try and save Ginny Weasley. Due to a back firing spell, Harry is forced to continue alone.

He meets Tom Riddle, aka Lord Voldemort, who sets the Basilisk on him. Harry's loyalty to Dumbledore sends him Fawkes and the Sorting Hat. The hat protects Harry long enough for Fawkes to blind the Basilisk, Harry then pulls Godric Gryffindor's sword from the hat and stabs the Basilisk through the roof of the mouth, killing it - but not before one of the fangs poisoned Harry.

Fawkes' tears save Harry's life, and he uses the fang to stab the diary - destroying one of Voldemort's Horcruxes and saving Ginny.

Harry Potter looked into the Mirror of Erised and found the Philosopher's Stone. His mother's protection meant that somebody as selfish as Professor Quirrell could not touch him without receiving severe burns. Harry used this to his advantage and managed to prevent Quirrell from getting the Philosopher's Stone until Albus Dumbledore arrived.

Quirrell died of his injures and Lord Voldemort fled. The Stone was later destroyed.
