the easiest way is........

Get a lvl 100 Pokemon and just use its best moves on there best Pokemon's and its more weaker moves on its more weaker Pokemon's DUH!!!

Noooo! You do NOT have to do that. Not at all. Level 100 Pokemon are painfully tedious to get, not to mention the fact that it's incredibly difficult to find Pokemon that high in level to battle. In order to train a Pokemon up to 100, you'd have to have other Pokemon around that level (like 80-90) to battle. And Victory Road only goes up to a max of about 55-60, if even that. I apologize for the length of this answer -- trying to be thorough.

The best thing you can do is to cover all your weaknesses. When you build a team to challenge the Elite Four, you need to do a bit of research on what types the Elite Four trainers have, and build a team around the types that can beat them. For example, if the Elite Four trainers have.. Water, Fire, Grass, and Electric types, and the Champion has Ghost types, you'll need Grass, (to beat Water,) Rock/Ground or Water, (to beat Fire and Electric,) Fire, (to beat Grass,) and another Ghost, (to beat Ghost.) This way, you cover your weaknesses, and make sure you play to your advantages.

Whatever level the highest Pokemon in the Elite Four is, (which will most likely be in the Champion's team,) you should add 2 or 3 levels to that, and train your Pokemon to that level, to make sure you have a good couple levels as a buffer, to add to your stats. So, if Cynthia has a level 66 Garchomp, (which she does, I think, in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum,) then you should train your Pokemon to 68-69, maybe even 70 if you really want to.

Moves, you should have at least one good, strong move for each Pokemon. Strong meaning.. over 100 power. Or all 4 somewhere around 80-90. This way you've got a good Attack.

Items, pull out all those useless items you've piled up over the 8, (or 16, if you're playing HeartGold/SoulSilver,) gyms. Hand over the items that power up certain types, (like a Miracle Seed for Grass type Pokemon,) and make sure you've got the max amount of help.

And your last bit of battle equipment.. is the equipment. Save up your money, and sell anything you don't need for the Elite Four + Champion. Buy Max Revives, Hyper Potions, PP Ups, and any X Defends/X Attacks etc. that you might need. If you're running a tad low on money, you can see about re-battling trainers with an Amulet Coin on the first Pokemon in your party for some moolah, or go with cheaper alternatives. Moomoo Milks instead of Hyper Potions, regular Revives instead of Max Revives, and anything else you may need. STOCK UP.

And SAVE! Save, save, save! Always save before AND after you battle and beat an Elite Four member! If you mess up once, and you didn't save before, you'll be back to square one. I don't know about you, but I'd rather re-battle one than re-battle them all.

And when you get to the Champion, it doesn't matter if your Pokemon has 5/10 PP left, or 180/200 HP left, or is asleep. Do not let it go unnoticed. Heal every Pokemon COMPLETELY before you challenge the Champion. The Champion is the hardest one to beat, and sometimes, even that 20 HP points can make a huge difference. In FireRed, I literally beat the Champion by a hair, (I was using the last PP on the only move I still had PP on, and had about 3 HP left on my last Pokemon.) Don't take anything for granted. Save up after everyone is healed, and head forward.

And be positive! If you don't win, turn the game off and try again! Sometimes it takes once, sometimes it takes a bit more. Maybe you could've started with a different Pokemon, or tried a different item. It makes a huge difference when you choose different moves. You WILL win eventually, and it isn't impossible.
