I have a Swampert in Pokemon emerald if I trade him to Pokemon fire red would I be able to teach him hydro cannon on Island 2 then trade him back to my Pokemon emerald game My Blastoise has already be?

sorry, you cant. you can only use the move tutor on island 2 for YOUR starter in FIRERED. even if you trade in another Kanto starter, like venusaur, it still wont work. u can only use it on 3rd stage evos (venusaur, blastoise, charizard) that u started out with

two things.

1. fire red is johto not kanto. kanto is Pokemon crystal,gold,silver

2. u cant trade 3rd generation Pokemon(ruby,sapphire,emerald) on to first generation games!

first of all this guy who answered this is an idiot fire red is kanto 2 reasons

1. when u give celio the ruby and sappire when u click on the machine it says linked up with kanto and hohen reigons

2. if fire red is johto then where is goldenrod city and all the other towns in johto plus why can't u get the GS ball and capure celebi

I agree with ^. the second guy's an idiot. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT GENERATIONS 3 & 4!! NOT 1 & 2!! And I tried it with a blastoise. The lady won't teach him anything. that sucks.

All right heres the real answer Swampert can't learn Hydro cannon from the move tutor on two island in firered only venusaur, blastoise and charizard can learn the moves she teaches plus they need to be at least level 50 to learn them and firered is kanto by the way.
