If Harry's invisibility cloak is perfect and resist spells and enchantments why can Mad-Eye Moody see through it?

Mad-Eye was not casting a spell or enchantment at Harry. He had a magical eye with strong magic of its own. It was designed to allow him to see through practically anything, such as wood, invisibility cloaks, and the back of his head.

∙ 13y agoIf you're referring to the shard of the mirror in the Deathly Hallows, then it's not Albus he sees. Albus' brother, Aberforth, has the other mirror. Since Albus and Aberforth are brothers, their eyes are alike and Harry thinks that he sees Albus.

∙ 8y agoDraco never saw Harry through the cloak. There were two occasions in which he saw parts of Harry while he was wearing it.
Once in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban when the cloak slipped off Harry's head in Hogsmeade. This led to Draco running back to Hogwarts and telling Professor Snape. Snape gave Harry into trouble as he didn't have a signed permission slip so no part of him should have been there.
The second time was in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Harry, determined to spy on Draco, puts on the cloak and sneaks into the train compartment where he is sitting with his friends. To get inside, Harry jams the door - making Draco suspicious. Harry then climbed onto the luggage rack and Draco caught a glimpse of his trainer. This then leads to Draco casting a full body bind on Harry (who was still under the cloak) and breaking his nose. Harry would have ended up back in London if Nymphadora Tonks hadn't found him.

∙ 12y agoHarry is descended from Ignotus Peverell, thus his father must also be a descendant of the youngest of the three brothers. I can only imagine that, as Harry obtained the cloak from his father, so James obtained the cloak from his.

∙ 6y agoIn the books, it is described as an actual cloak that has a hood and is worn just like a normal cloak. In the movie, it is a single piece of fabric that is placed over the person.
