Whatever race Tarzan/Jane is has no influence over Cheeta's race, because they are two different mammals and they are related in no way at all.
Cheeta will always be 100% chimp. No matter what.

Tarzan didn't "own" a monkey in the novels, but often had a monkey companion: Either N'kima or Manu...one of those two, or maybe both.The above is pretty much correct. The chimpanzee named Cheeta was an invention of the film producers/directors/writers/whatevers, and did not appear in the novel.The line "Me Tarzan, you Jane" while thumping first on his chest and then on hers (Jane had a very pretty chest, so it would have been a bit exciting if it did happen) also did not happen either in the book or in the movie...it is just a bit of enduring folklore.
Disney's "Tarzan and Jane" story is about Tarzan and Jane's 1st anniversary. Jane's trying to figure out what to do for their anniversary. In the end, Tarzan's got it all planned out.
