Quidditch is the most famous game played at Hogwarts. Each of the four houses has a team and compete against each other to win the Quidditch cup. It is the only major sport played at the school and nearly every member of staff and all students attend the matches.
It is never known how many students are at Hogwarts at any one time. It is thought by some fans that there are forty students in each year.Ten for each house and five of each gender within the houses. Of course there are seven years so forty times seven makes a grand total of 280 every year, however this has never been confirmed and there are ways to disprove this such as the Gryffindor girls in Harry's year. There are only three Gryffindor girl's mentioned who are: Hermione, Lavender and Parvati. Of course it is possible that there are another two girls who weren't mentioned but not likely and if you think of it: Hogwarts has more than enough space for 280 students and the films (although they cannot be considered canon in any way) show many more students than that amount and even the books give of the impression of more students than that.J.K. Rowling has also stated that there are about one thousand students at Hogwarts during an interview. It is also highly improbable that there are the exact same amount of people turning eleven and enrolling in Hogwarts ever year, and every British witch and wizard is eligible to attend.
Quidditch is a fictional game played in the Harry Potter books. In 2005, students at Middlebury College in Vermont started playing Quidditch as an intermural sport. The first intercollegiate Quidditch match was held in November 2007 between Middlebury College and Vassar College. In 2007, the Intecollegiate Quidditch Association was founded. In 2010 it changed its name to the International Quidditch Association. Over 400 colleges and 300 high schools compete in Quidditch, the majority of which are in the United States. Every year, the IQA holds a World Cup tournament in New York City where four colleges compete for the title. Although the sport is played at many colleges, it is not officially recognized as a NCAA sport. See related links for more information on the IQA. In the Harry Potter books, Quidditch is a game played on flying broomsticks. There are 7 players - 2 beaters, 3 chasers, 1 keeper and 1 seeker. The chasers try to put the quaffle past the keeper and through the hoops at the end of the field, the beaters try to keep the bludgers away from their teammates, and seeker tries to catch the golden snitch to end the game. Each quaffle is worth 10 points and the golden snitch is worth 150 points.
No. If you think about it, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff are very alike - both value good behaviours and something more than achievement (they value bravery, chivalry, loyalty, trust, justice). Slytherin and Ravenclaw are alike, as they both value achievement over proper social behaviours (they value ambition and academic excellence) This is not to say that Gryffindor students do not have ambitions or that Raveclaw students are disloyal. However as the four houses are vastly different, you can generally only have a hatstall between G and H, or R and S (since these are houses with similar qualities)

The poltergeist Peeves and ofcourse the rival Slytherin.
In Philosopher's Stone, Hermione mentions that she heard Dumbledore was in Gryffindor. It was also confirmed in the Pottermore welcome video for students sorted into Gryffindor House.
The three most famous Greek philosophers are Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. Socrates taught by asking questions and having his students think and hypothesize the answer.

Luna Lovegood and Cho Chang are kind of the main ones. Other Ravenclaws include Penelope Clearwater (Percy's girlfriend in the early books), Roger Davies (Quidditch captain), Marietta Edgecombe (Cho's friend who sells out the D.A. in the fifth book), Michael Corner (Ginny's boyfriend in the fifth book), and Padma Patil (Parvati's twin sister; she's a Gryffindor in the films, but a Ravenclaw in the books).

Harry Potter plays for Gryffindor house as the seeker. A role he was given during his first year at Hogwarts in 1991.First year students are not normally allowed on the Quidditch team, but Professor McGonagall witnessed Harry catching Neville Longbottom's remembrall after a 50 feet dive during his first flying lesson and convinced Professor Dumbledore to bend the rules. She also gave him a Nimbus 2000 broomstick - the best one in existence at the time.

Students at Hogwarts play games such as Wizard's Chess and Gobstones. They attend clubs and play for (or follow) their house Quidditch team.
It's nearly immpossible to name each and every student in Gryffindor, because there are so many. A few are Seamus Finnigan, Dean Thomas, The two weasly twins, Lavender Brown, (obviously harry , ron and hermione) Neville Longbottom, Colin Creevey, and Kaite Bell Another answer: they are all witches and wizards.
