Wikipedia is not always right. People can post whatever they want on it, though someone usually spots the lie and takes it down. I'm always sure to post the truth if I edit something, but some people are just mean. There is no mention of Artemis being "half-fairy" or a "sage" in books 1-6, the ones currently released. Mr. Colfer has said nothing about this, either. He has said that there will be a connection between Holly and Artemis's birth to be revealed in 7th books, however. Holy Frond, please oh PLEASE don't let them be related!
This is probable. I say this because if Artemis hadn't remembered that it was something about fairies, he wouldn't start intentionally searching for them.
They are about how he wants to kidnapp a fairy and hold them hostage because he wants gold.
The book Artemis Fowl is fantasy. There is no such thing as Haven, elves, or the LEPrecon fairy police. If you want to know for sure, try going to the center of the earth. I guarantee that you will not find a fairy.
"The Arctic Incident" is the second book in the Artemis Fowl series. It is then followed by, in reading order, "The Eternity Code," "The Opal Deception," "The Lost Colony," "The Time Paradox" and "The Atlantis Complex."
First, there is an essay on Artemis Fowl by Prof. J. Argon (a fairy). Afterwards, there's a Prologue telling how Artemis Fowl Senior was kidnapped (by the Russian Mafiya.) Then, it goes the the real story.

Artemis has kidnapped a fairy from the Lower Elements Police, and he is holding her for ransom.
Artemis has kidnapped a fairy named Holly and plans to exchange her for gold.
Because they are one of the few animals that can see a fairy when they are "shielding" Fairies in Artemis Fowl are also quite small so rats to them would be like average size dogs to us.
It is about Artemis Fowl, a teenage criminal who captures a fairy to make a lot of money.

It will show a connection to Holly and Artemis' birth. Artemis probably will develop multiple personality disorder and some how end up in fairy prison.
Basically, Artemis captures a Lower Elements Police fairy, Captain Holly Short, to hold for ransom. The LEP do everything they can to rescue their captain, but Artemis Fowl seems to know everything about the Fairy Folk because he has a copy of the Book, the fairy bible. At the last moment, Artemis releases Holly for one metric ton of gold.
One metric ton of the fairy's gold.
