Yes and no. Cinderella has some very admirable characteristics (she's optimistic, persevering, and strong-willed), but she's also very dependent. She could have stood up for herself or left her stepmother's house at any time, but instead she waits to be rescued by the love of a prince. I suppose there weren't a lot of options for a woman in the time period the story was set, but she still could have gotten a job in the village.
However, the good characteristics do outweigh the bad, and Cinderella is a great role model for children. Just talk to them about independence.
