George Burns was born Nathan Birnbaum on January 20, 1896 in New York City, the ninth of 12 children. He died at the age of 100 years and 49 days on March 09, 1996 after cardiac arrest at his home in Beverly Hills. You can find him now in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Glendale, California. The crypt's marker reads: "Gracie Allen & George Burns-Together Again."

Edward Fitzgerald Burns (born January 29, 1968) was raised in Woodside, Queens, New York by Roman Catholic parents Molly and Edward Burns.

George Burns (January 20, 1896 - March 9, 1996), born Nathan Birnbaum in New York City, was the son of Jewish immigrants from Romania.

There does not appear to be a connection between the two families.
