Kids will enjoy it. It has a PG raiting and is much less dark than the last one so if they saw the last one this one should be fine.
There is a scene which might scare them though so be warned.
In my opinion, the series gets progressively darker, more sinister, as it progresses. Some care should be exercised in having small children read, or watch, Harry Potter 4 and later. Perhaps "under parental guidance". For youth, it should be no problem. Mind you, I am a Harry Potter fan myself, it is just that some of the topics are not appropriate for smaller children.
the reason for this is that (if i am correct) J.K. Rowling made these books for her childrens age so as they grew older the books grew darker- to me this makes sense since i grew up at the correct age for all of the harry potter books to be exactly age appropriate for me. (the movies are the same- although i was afraid of one thing in almost every movie 1-troll 2-basalisk 3-dememtors 4-maze 5 and 6 however, since i am now old enough did not scare me.)
No, it deals with mature themes.
