Is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone happy or sad and why?

Well, only the author could really answer that for you.
I anticipate some sadness during the story, but I doubt that Harry Potter will fail at anything he sets his mind to, and that good will triumph over evil, as usual.
It it already sad that it is the last book in the series however, so there will probably be some sadness involved with finishing the book.
I found it to be bittersweet. The ending overall is good, but there are a few elements to it which make it sad, yes, and of course because it's the last one. I was very happy with it, though.
Bittersweet , there is no beter world to describe it I am sure Harry and Ginny will just look at each over and burst into tears sometimes ,tears of love,loss and bittersweetness

∙ 14y agoHarry Potter is not an overly sad character. He has had a lot of sadness in his life (Death of parents, Raised poorly by uncle), but he has not let that overcome him.
The movie has many funny scenes, and some sad ones. Especially in relation to the Death of a major character. Overall, the movie is Darker in tone.

∙ 8y agoHarry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is both happy and sad. At the start of the book, we feel sorry for Harry who lost his parents as a baby and is being raised by family who bully him and treat him as a second class citizen. We're then happy because he goes to Hogwarts, makes friends and feels at home.
During the battle for the philosopher's stone we again feel sad because we're not sure what will happen, but at the end we're happy because Harry wins.
