It is very safe since it is developed by the Pokemon creators after all. You can transfer Pokemon from Pokemon Black, White, Black 2, and White 2 onto the system and get it into your Pokemon X or Y games but you need to do it in a thirty day time span unless you're paying. Item-wise, sort of. If your bag is to full in items, the item that is attached to your Pokemon will be lost. Overall, it's a safe program to use.
