Is Pokemon cards waste of money?

Yes and no.

Yes in a way that certain cards you can easily make your money from. Special "shiny" pokemon (i.e. the ones that are different colours to the usual) can be worth quite a bit. Packs her in England cost about £3.50, so getting a rare card, you could make a profit.

On the other hand, you might have to buy a lot of packs to get a profit in the end. Some packs are, too be frank, are rubbish, but every once in a while you hit the jackpot. By then though, the selling of the rare cards might not make up for buying the packets.

It's really up to you if you want to spend the time and money on the,- I love collecting them as it takes me back to my childhood. My collection of (normal) cards reaches 7000, with two folder full of shinies and rare collectibles many of which are older cards. I hope when I have children they can see how awesome my childhood was.

Whether collecting or not collecting Pokemon Cards is completely your choice, but personally I love to collect them and will insist the same for other collectors as well. If we talk about value, it depends on the cards you have! You may log onto to ebay and you'll see a huge difference, depending on the type of card and how many are being sold. There are online price guides and magazines where you can check the value, too!
