Batman is better because he DOESN'T NEED super powers. That's why criminals are afraid of him and that's how he keeps Gotham from destroying itself. People need a hero they can relate to, not one that relies on their uncanny powers.

First of all NO ONE can relate to Batman. Are you a billionaire who runs a super successful company while balancing being a superhero, flying over rooftops and using gadgets to clean up crime in your city? Are you so traumatized from an event in your life, that you use that as fuel to fight mobs? Maybe its the Mastering of over 127 forms of Martial Arts that you can relate to, or that you have a genius intellect, and that you're a master tactition? No? I can say I can relate to Superman as much as you can say you can relate to Batman, because they're both UNRELATEABLE. You say Superman has died, ok if Batman was a better hero and has a plan for EVERYTHING, how then, can he take on Braniac, who has galaxies of knowledge under his belt? Or Doomsday who is virtually unstoppable! If Superman were out of the picture, how would Batman defeat these characters? That's right Batman can't. That's why Superman is better, because he protects the WORLD from alien threats on a global scale, not just a city.
