In order to bring a vehicle into CA from any state you will need to have the vehicle title or the registration from the prior state where vehicle was registered. Now if you only have the prior reg and no title then CA will only give you registration with plates/stickers NO TITLE. If you have the title DMV will keep it and issue you a new CA title. OK so along with the title or prior reg card you will need to get a vin verification done by DMV, law enforcement officer, or licensed vehicle verifier & get the vehicle smogged.
