Deadpool is a popular Marvel mercenary. He was created in Feb. 1991 by Rob Liefeld & Fabian Nicieza. First appearance in The New Mutants #98.

Deadpool has been around for a long time, usually showing up in x force comics. He has had a few mini series and a couple of ongoing series but only people who truly read comics really know who Deadpool is. He is a big marvel character and the upcoming movie should boost his popularity.

JUST because you havn't heard of him until the game.

deadpool is well known aside from his video game and horrible movie counterpart (Ryan Reynolds was perfect as Wade Wilson though i might add). his known for breaking the wall and Spiderman like humor. The merc with the mouth is well known trust ME.

Deadpool first appeared in wolverine 66 were he was depicted as villain not a mercenary where he fought Kane also known as the 3 successful weapon x and Vanessa but later on he went to work with cable and was even later revealed to be part of crack commando unit with maverick saber tooth wraith blob stryker and wolverine.

He is Neutral so he is neither good nor bad, it really depends on who he is being paid to kill.

Deadpool isn't particularly a hero, originally he'd hate to be called "the hero", however now it seems as though he really does want to be a hero now. This is due to the fact that he simply just wants to be loved, and he believes this could be gained by being seen as "the good guy"

Deadpool (Wade Winston Wilson) is a superhero only in the sense that he does have the superpower of healing but otherwise the answer would be no because of his mental instability and his lack of virtues that one would normally associate with 'superheroes' . The "Merc with a Mouth" is more of an antihero .

No Deadpool is not an Avenger and never will become an avenger because he's an anti-hero. Meaning he fights for his own personal gain (he's sometimes a hero and sometimes the villain).
