What happened to Jacqueline Susann's son Guy?

Guy was diagnosed with autism at an early age. Very little was known about this condition then. The many doctors consulted by the Mansfields gave them little hope that Guy would ever be normal. He was placed in a nearby institution. His parents told their friends that Guy had been sent to a special school in Arizona because he had severe asthsma. They felt that to admit the truth would stigmatize Guy, should he ever recover enough to live at home again. Jackie suffered guilt and heartbreak over Guy for the rest of her life. He was a very handsome child who resembled Jackie's father. Irving Mansfield wrote in his biography of Jackie that at first, they sometimes brought Guy home for a short visit. But his condition never improved. At the time of Jackie's death in 1974, he was living in an institution in Texas. There seems to be no current information on Guy, who is now in his 60's. Irving Mansfield died in 1988. I'm sure he appointed a guardian for Guy.
