Why Beyond Birthday does look exactly like L?
Beyond Birthday dressed himself up like L because he wanted to be better than L. In reality, he probably didn't look exactly like L, just very much like him. Fan representations of the character make him out to be an evil twin, but in actuality, he was just evil and wanted to look like L. He wanted to surpass L, so he 'became' him, and then became a more 'extreme' version of him. So, long story short, he dressed up like L because he was crazy and felt like it. xDD
