Is mew in Pokemon Yellow

Yes. First, you go up to the gambler next to a in front of a house ( He's next to Lavender Town). Walk right in front of him and IMMEDIATELY press start. Then use a Pokemon to fly to Cerulean City and go fight the guy with a slowpoke (You have to have fought all of the others trainers). Go as far way as you can from him then battle him. Beat him, and then fly to the city with the ghost tower (it should be purple). Go ONE STEP out of the city, and a menu should pop up automatically. Press b to exit, and then Mew should appear.

go to cerulean city, then use the Pokemon center. After that, go towards the cave that is blocked until after the Pokemon elite four is beaten. When your diagonal of the left corner of the where the water starts, save your game, then move down and holdn start at the same time. You'll see that the trainer wants to battle but he can't because your teleporting away with Abra[that's why you pressed star, plus used the pokecenter]when you reapear in front of the pokecenter, go towards the the area you were just at, but go right. when you get to the mased area, go to the farthest north, that you can go. when you hit those bushes, go around them, then go up again. The one jr. trainer that's looking north, will walk towards you, and battle you, beat him, then teleport to tghe pokecenter again. Then this time, go towards that area again, but as your on the bridge,your start menu will pop up on it's own, press "b," and you'll it will say, that your in a battle, it's Mew! This is the secret 151st Pokemon in your pokedex! Mew will not mess up your game, but it's only a level 7, so be careful not to make it faint!!!- This secret has been tested, it will work if done correctly, and this will also work in red and blue!

PS:In the secret cave that is blocked off, you'll encounter poop

one of the best stratagese to beat it or capture it, is to raise Mew to level 70 [thesame as Mewtwo] or higher, and attack it to low health and use ultra,greatand/or pokeballs.[Or save your master ball, because Mewtwo is the hardest Pokemon to capture

there is a strange glitch in cerulien city but idk how to do it. The other way is the truck thing next to the s.s. ann where if you get cut then faint, get surf later, then go back you will see the s.s. ann leave then surf to the right and use strength on the truck. im pretty shure this only works in yellow not red, blue, gold, silver, crystal, fire red, leaf green, heart gold, or soul silver. :3

the only way you can get mew in yellow is with GameShark, i dont remember correctly if you can get mew in blue and red but i know you couldnt in yellow. What my friends use to do was have somebody use gameshark to get Mew and then make copys of it using the the copy method and then trade it off to people that was the only way that i know.
