∙ 14y agoIf you're referring to the Joker in Batman, then all the characters are fictional. The original model used for the Joker was Conrad Veidt, he died in 1943. If you are referring to the man who played the Joker in The Dark Knight, yes. His name was Heath Ledger and he died of an accidental overdose as per the news I have read so far. See the related link for more information. There is "no" real life joker, by the way.

But since Batman does not kill unless absolutely necessary (and every not then). Its unlikely he will ever die.
There is never a reason give in the real Batman comics for why he wont just kill off The Joker.
In Batman Flashpoint Knight of Vengeance it's different.
