Recently I developed a fairly large keloid on my ear as a result of a piercing. As far as I am aware, there are no absolute cures, which is rather upsetting, but I believe this is due to a lack of research generally.
I have received many differing opinions, however I believe the following to be the best advice
Do not pick the scar - avoid touching it. My piercer told me to try and bleed it - for goodness' sake, don't! New injury will make it even bigger.
Take any piercings out as soon as you notice a keloid. Don't dither; they can be re-done, but a scar may be permanent. Piercings cause irritation, and the scar will only get bigger while they are in.
Surgery often seems to result in an even bigger scar after it heals.
Soak the lump in hot and cold salt water 2-3 times per day. Some people say tea tree oil works, but the local pharmacy strongly disagreed with this when I asked.
HC45 cream also seems to work apparently - I have not tried this yet, so could not say - but i intend to buy some asap, as it would make sense - it is designed to help reduce swelling and inflammation.
Finally, don't worry. Take a picture, and compare your lump to it throughout treatment. I think mine has gone down, but I couldn't say, it's not been long. Treatment of true keloids may take a long time.
At the very least, it makes sense that the sooner you treat it, the smaller it will stay.
I hope mine doesn't grow any more, but if it stays the same - well, till they find some miracle cure, I'm putting it down to experience.
I have also suffered from a keloid on my Tragus because of my piercing, and my piercer told me to use Vitimin E oil and massage it on the keloid 3 times a day. I have also tried salt water. Do not use bio oil as this makes it worse.
SILICONE PADS. They help incredibly. Silicone is known to help heal scars.

A keloid is an overgrown scar, not a blister.
what is the difference between a keloid and an adhesion
Keloid is the normal medical term used.
If you pick off your keloid it grows back.
Keloids often require no treatment. Keloids may be reduced in size by freezing , external pressure, corticosteroid injections, laser treatments, radiation, or surgical removal.
It is a keloid.
No. The keloid is an alteration of the healing process, so it only can appear in injured skin.
To treat keloid scarring you should use Kenalog. Kenalog is a drug that is injected into your tissue to shrink keloid scars. However you must first get approval from you doctor.
