I believe that there will be a fourth season. The whole show was about returning balance to the world, there would have to be balance with the seasons. There will be a fourth season, Im willing to bet my bottom dollar. One of tha last scenes in the last episode was Zuko talking to his father about where his mother was. Also, they left off on so many people, like Azula and Jet. What happened to them? The show wouldn't be finalized like that.
This is just an idea, but Book 4 would be about Air, right? So I think that there was a hidden air temple like an eastrn air temple, because im not sure that an eastern air temple was mentioned at all, that nobody knew about that survived Sozin only because it was secret and the only people that knew of it were head monks that died. The air temple that survived would be hidden somewhere cleverly, more than the western air temple that is built in side cliff sides, and that a whole air nomad tribe is living. But there might be some conflict, like not enough genetic diversity.
I think that the whole next season will be about Aang receiving knowledge of this air temple and setting off to find it, about Zuko finding his mother, and the aang gang to restore peace by healing the scars that the war has caused. Even if the war is over, there would be prejudice beyond thought between nations. It would be a bit like racism, it never really would end. I think that Zuko finding his mother will have something to do with Aang looking for this airtemple, and maybe even his mother being with tha air temple.

I'm not sure. It's likely that they won't, but it is a very popular show and there were hints in the finale that they might make more. Like the fact that Zuko hasn't found his mother yet he asked his father where she was. They could talk about Aang and Katara, rebuilding after the war, finding the Dai Lee, maybe finding hidden and scattered airbenders. They could have more but it's not a definite. It has been confirmed that there will be an Avatar movie in 2010 to tie up any loose ends but that's it.

∙ 12y agoNo but there is going to be another show connected to it call The Legend of Korra and rumor has it, it will be coming out on Nickaloadeon in November 2011. It is about a water-bender who is the next Avatar. This series takes place 70 years after The Last Airbender.

As long as Korra doesn't die in the Avatar state, then yes. The cycle is Water, Earth, Fire and Air, so when she dies, someone in the Earth Kingdom will be the next Avatar. The real question is whether or not the creators will animate the story about the next Avatar after Korra.
